Meet legendary adman and CNBC talk show host Donny Deutsch as he discusses what it takes to reach the top of the leagues.

Donny on Success

"The entire concept is wrapped up in one phrase: Why Not Me? You can't just say it, you've got to own it."

Donny on Being a Leader
"You can't teach leadership and you can't give power. You can't make people follow you, even if you pay them salary."

Donny on Hiring
"The real G-Spot for turbo-creativity is the man or woman who
hasn't really accomplished breakthrough work yet. They are just almost there."

Donny on Managing
"To run a good crew you need to put your ego aside for a moment and concentrate on a person other than yourself."

As Chairman of Deutsch Inc., Donny has propelled the Agency into one of the nation’s top 10 advertising agencies. The Agency has represented such prestigious clients as Johnson & Johnson, Mitsubishi, Revlon, Novartis Worldwide, Coors, Expedia, Old Navy and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Both Advertising Age and Adweek have chosen the $2.8 billion agency time and again as “Agency of the Year.”

Informed, opinionated and influential, Donny hosts CNBC talk show “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch,” which has been lauded as hip and irreverent. His daily show examines the hottest issues in media and pop culture with an electrifying mix of celebrity, business, sports and political guests. Donny is also Managing Partner of Deutsch Open City, the independent production company that has produced films including Three Seasons, Chuck and Buck and Coffee and Cigarettes. In 2005 Harper Collins published his business motivation book, Often Wrong, Never in Doubt, based upon career experiences. He also had a brief turn in politics as a lead member of the Clinton/Gore communications team in 1992.

A graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Donny now serves on two prestigious boards: UPenn’s School of Social Work’s Executive Committee and the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation’s Board of Directors.
